No sound. I have worked on computer's my for` a long time and never have I had this much problems

I have worked on computer's my for` a long time and never have I had this much problems with any other pc... I reinstalled xp to find out my sound driver are gone ...so i tryed to go my norm.. route and download from sony or yamaha no luck.. i give up after trying realtek ac'97 and still nothing if you have had this prob. and fixed it please throw me a link to the driver.......thanks
