I replaced a CD-Rom with an HP dvd1040i 20x multiformat dvd writer to my HP 522 desktop and the software that came with it--Nero 7 essentials. If I put a CD in the burner to play, there is sound. If I put a DVD in the burner, the DVD will play but there is no sound. Any ideas on why the sound does not work.I have a dell pc that has a cd player/burner. I added a hp dvd 1040i 20x multiformat dvd writer to the system. If I play a cd in it I have sound, but if i play a dvd in it, I have visual but no sound. If anyone knows the solution to this problem I would greatly appreciate it. I've checked all volume controls, sound card operability in device manager, called hp tech support and still haven't found a soultion yet.
