No sound when playing dvd. I have a toshiba lcd tv,toshiba hd dvd player and a yamaha receiver

I have a toshiba lcd tv,toshiba hd dvd player and a yamaha receiver RXV363B.Currently I have a HDMI cable from tv-receiver,Optical from tv-receiver and HdMI from dvd- receiver.We get sound from tv channels and tuner from the receiver but when we switch to dvd on receiver we get the movie picture and no sound ???????confused I am
