Ok I got my braces on about 2 months ago, and the dentist didnt put spacers on my teeth. I'm just wondering if that will be an issue. Because my sister told me that i need spacers, and she didnt think my dentist was doing it right...Just wondering if anyone else out there dosent have spacers, or if anyone else thinks that's peculiar...thnx

  1. i haVE BRACES ON RIGHT NOW AND YOU PROBABLY HAVE TO HAVE SPACERS I GOT THEM HALF WAY THROUGH THE TIME I HAVE THEM ON THEY DO GIVE U THESE THINGS CALLED RUBBER BANDS THAT IM WEARING RIGHT NOW AND U HAVE TO HAVE THEM ON 24/7 AND IT PULLS UR TEETH CLOSER TOGETHER AND its painful till u had them on for 3 days so u dont need to be worried the maximum time they can keep braces on are 3 years because its the law

  2. spacers are basically rubber bands that stretch out your teeth so they can fit the band in (the little metal thing on your molars in the back) on. This just means your teeth were already wide enough to fit the bands. It's not always nesscessary.

  3. its good hopefully ur dentist noese wuts his or she is doing

  4. No, more and more orthos are switching to using buccal tubes that are directly bonded instead of bands with the tubes on them :) That is a great thing! Lucky you =) I know people that don't need spacers :)
