No spark on a 1981 john deere 317 w/kohler 2 cly

Question

I have no spark on my engine. I have 12 volts going to the coil My spec# 8252203(is this the presserized good engine?). I am thinking my points(do I have them or electronic?) or?? It has been sitting outside for about 1 year prior to me buying it. Where can I get schamatic for this unit on line(free?)? Serial # 1601315461 Thanks for any help you can give me Jim
