Question:

No temperature shift, but positie OPK?

I am on cd 16 of a typical 31 day cycle. I have been charting for the past 6 months and decided to use a OPK this month. I started testing on cd11 and saw two lines (I think they were the same color) and considered it positive. I took it again for the next two days just because I was curious. CD12 was what I consider to be positive too, but cd13 was negative (two lines, but one line was a lot lighter). So my question is why I have not seen a thermal shift yet? Did I ovulate at all this month? In the past six months, I have usually ovulated around cd16/17. Is ovulation yet to come? Why would I get a positive OPK 5 or 6 days before ovulation?

  1. It's not uncommon for your body to "gear up" to ovulate and then not.  Your LH may have just gone into gear as a practice run for the real deal happening later on.  I would keep checking, but if you dont get a temp shift then you didn't ovulate, even if the OPKs are positive.
