  2. El Salvador is not expensive,with 5 bucks you can buy alot over there than here...why do you think some vendors who have a salvadorean stores take avantage to rip off people here cause they buy everything cheap over there and they sell it double here

    Gas  ( i take a bus) 35 -1.50 a trip depending on where I am going

    Living in the city  double or triple those prices

    yes el salvador is expensive.  even with a skill and a degree it is normal for a college graduate to make 2 dollars an hour and that is considered good money.  it is not enough to cover the cost of living.

  5. Personally, I don't think that El Salvador is expensive. Most of the basic things in the country such as housing ,food ,utilities and transportation are inexpensive.

  6. If you live as a local in a small town, life is not expensive.

    If you want to live at the same level as in Canada or Europe, cost of living is expensive.

    Take into consideration that salary for a recently graduated from College (University) is between 400 and 600 USA dollars.

    But, un-employment (sub-employment) rate is high.

    Generally speaking, this is valid to all the Central American countries.

  7. El Salvador is inexpensive if you are getting local crafts or products and food. Your money will go a lot further than it would here in the USA.  If you live there everything is expensive since you don't get pay in dollars.

    It is expensive if you get imports or electronics.
