The Chief Executive Officer at the Juventus Arena has gone on to hit back at the posters unveiled during the Turin derby, and stated that it is totally unacceptable.
The Italian supporters, more specifically, the Serie A supporters have developed a name for themselves, and it is anything but positive. Throughout the years, they have shown their intolerance and insensitivity during the matches in the Serie A, and there
are far too many instances to be quoted in one news item. There are always huge amounts of controversies during the course of the season, and asides from the refereeing controversies, there are other controversies which have plagued the Serie A, including
racial abuse and anti Semitic.
One does not have to roll back the pages too far to see the repercussions of their intolerance, and the recent incident including Tottenham and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 is extremely saddening. There were chants of anti Semitism during the match, as well as a brawl on the eve
of the match, in a tavern in Lazio. Tottenham are known to have a big Jewish following, and in an unfortunate set of circumstances, one of the supporters of the club was killed in a fight at the “Drunken Ship” in the Italian capital. It was understood that
it was a brawl between Tottenham supporters and the Biancocelesti Ultras, but the club have denied any such reports.
Agnelli, the owner of Juventus FC, has remarked that it is totally unacceptable to see the supporters acting out in the way they acted, where they hoisted a banner with reference to the Superga tragedy. The tragedy saw the players of the Grande Torino outfit
killed in a plane crash, and the owner of the club went on to state that it was nothing short of shameful, and he went on to state:
“I don’t believe that the supremacy of supporters should be manifested by remembering the tragedies of others. You see these banners in stadiums all over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 with gratuitous insults that absolutely have to be condemned. It is a shame to see that in a stadium
where the atmosphere is noted by the Curva – they have the power to give personality to an arena. Tragedies, as far as I am concerned, don’t have club loyalties.”
Juventus ran riot against Torino, as they secured victory by 3-0.
