Question:

No visitor parking?

My apartment complex just notified us that no visitors are allowed to park inside the complex-- but offered no alternative parking for visitors other than stating that they can't be parked within the gates--shouldn't they designate parking that is specifically for visitors?

  1. Does your original agreement promise parking for visitors? That's more of an added bonus, compared to something necessary. If your original agreement says you will get visitor parking, and now that is being changed, you'll have a case. Other wise, you can't really complain.

  2. NOPE!!!  Visitor parking is NOT a required amenity.  In fact no landlord is required to guarantee any parking if its not available.  They are ONLY required to let you know what is available.

There are some places in some cities that have just street parking for all residents and visitors alike.

  3. They don't have to give any visitor parking legally. Been there, it sucked. Sorry.

    Good luck

  4. It is private property, they do not have to have public parking.

  5. No...unless your lease specifically states that there is parking provided for visitors.  Most complex around here (NY) have no parking for visitors and very little parking for residence....there is acutally a waiting list for parking spots.
