No volume on Sony Bravia HDX576WF?

Help I purchased the Sony HDX576WF and cant get much volume when watching TV. The back speakers (surround)don't work at all. Do I have to have a HD TV for this theatre in a box to work?

Try checking the cables of your equipment, maybe you have it connected in a wrong sucket. Or you can also read the manual that comes with your equipment, i know there are some information listed there regarding this matter.

How do you have it hooked up? Is it connected to a cable box or to the TV?

Have you played a DVD? Did it have good sound?

Most TV programming is recorded in stereo, so you wouldn't probably get much if any sound from the rear speakers even if it is hooked up right.
