No water output on my 40 hp Mercury outboard?

Worked great, then my boyfriend ran seafoam thru it now no water not even a trickle comes out. Checked the peep hole, nothing appears to be clogged in there. Water pump or impeller?

Your water pump impeller most likely went south!

Seafoam had nothing to do with the cooling system.

its more than likely your w/p impeller. when you take it out if there are any peices missing. FIND THEM they will clogg it up and burn up the motor. Sea foam had nothing to do with it. dont run it when its not pumping water. a new impeller only costs about 30bucks.

one thing to check.... with the motor in the water and runing... follow the weep hole hose back to the engine and pull it off... if water is coming out, then you have a bad weep hole... if still nothing.. most likely it is a bad impellar....good luck
