The latest day of the event saw shifty two-to-three foot waves arriving at the primary event site, raising expectations for a series of intense battles between the surfing talent from all corners of the world.
The 19th heat pitted Schweizer against his fellow countryperson Jeffrey Lukasik, Brazil’s Bettero and Hawaii’s Kiron Jabour in a four-man battle for the Round 3 spot.
The battle turned out to be an exciting affair with both Schweizer and Bettero putting on determined performances to reach out for victory. Once the dust settled, the American surfer stood victorious with a heat-total of 14.96 points, which included a couple

The 20th heat featured yet another intense battle, this time between Curran and Larsen. The crowd got to witness an exciting contest as the two surfers kept each other under pressure throughout the course of the heat. In the end, however, the
American surfer however managed to get the better of his Hawaiian rival through a heat-total of 14.67 points against Larsen’s two-wave total of 13.83 points.
Peru’s Cristobal De Col and America’s Jeremy Carter got eliminated from the competition after finishing in third and fourth place with a heat-total of 8.57 and 6.63 points respectively.
