Nobby Kivambo favourite for Connolly´s Red Mills Intermediate Point-To-Point Championship Final Hunters´ Chase
Nobby Kivambo is tipped to win the Connolly´s Red Mills Intermediate Point-To-Point Championship Final Hunters´ Chase at Cheltenham in England on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. The triumphant horse will be awarded a cash prize of £4,367.
The going will be soft in the 3 mile, 1 furlong and 110 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 17:35 GMT. The stamina of all participants will be tested today and speed will not really matter because of the longer distance to cover.
Following are the entries confirmed for the race: Benedictus, Bleuvito, Books Review, Doctor Kingsley, Gort Na Lea, Hameldown Tor, Killary Bay, Nobby Kivambo, Ramborob, Simply Game, Tricky Tangler, Woodview Prince, Mayfair Lastchance and My Lil Ledge.
Looking at the experience of Nobby Kivambo, the bookmakers have awarded him with pretty decent odds. He has not been able to deliver a solid result in recent times, thus the punters might be reluctant to risk money in his favour.
The seven-year-old gelding has participated in a couple of chase events until now, winning none of them. However, he has got a great chance of breaking the shackles today and might win his maiden race.
In his most recent race, the J. S. Warner’s trainee ended up fourth overall, as he was up against some quality runners. He will have to be at his absolute best in order to make a solid impression at Cheltenham today.
Nobby Kivambo will be ridden by Mr M. Wall, who has won 11 chase races in his career at a decent strike rate. However, he will need to bring a lot more consistency in his performances in order to become one of the best in the business.
On the other hand, Benedictus also has a very good chance of winning his first ever chase race at Cheltenham today. He is a decent performer and has done decently at the amateur level.
The seven-year-old gelding has taken part in a couple of chase events and the best he could manage was a runner up position once, which shows that he is fully capable of leading the rest of the pack.
Other than the top two favourites, Bleuvito, Books Review, Doctor Kingsley, Gort Na Lea, Hameldown Tor and Killary Bay are also good runners and might manage to fight for victory in the race.
