Noble Mission likely to win King Edward VII Stakes
Noble Mission looks to be very sharp ahead of the King Edward VII Stakes (Group 2) (Colts & Geldings) that he wants to win by capitalising on the form produced by the four epic feats of his career. The high-stakes Class 1 contest is set to be held at Ascot
racecourse on Friday, June 22. The action will commence at 3:05 (GMT).
On the soft track of 1 mile and 4 furlongs, the Sir Henry Cecil-trained bay colt will face half a dozen rivals such as Astrology, Farhaan, Initiator, Shantaram, Thomas Chippendale and Thought Worthy. The prize purse of the race contains £85,065.
Nobel Mission started his career marvellously with a runner-up rank on October 25, 2011. The three-year-old novice runner stepped ahead to accomplish a classic conquest against 13 competitors on April 21, 2012. This was his maiden triumph that boosted up
the victor’s morale greatly. The colt was 3-1 favourite for that event.
The brilliant sprinter stepped ahead to claim a superb victory in the third start of his career on May 5. He proceeded to get a runner-up rank again in his last outing on May 19.
These excellent marks have made Noble Mission a sturdy competitor who will surly make a big impact in today’s Stakes.
Among the colt’s competitors, Initiator is the runner who has enough potential to fight for top spot.
The Jeremy Noseda-trained bay colt debuted with 4th spot on August 12, 2011. The young and energetic colt ran against 16 rivals in his maiden race.
The son of Motivator out of Dawnus moved ahead to break his maiden in the very next outing on May 28, 2012. This time, he faced a dozen of rivals while being a 6-4 favourite.
It is predicted that there will be neck-to-neck clash between Noble Mission and Initiator. This will make the event thrilling enough.
Shantaram too looks to be strong enough. The John Gosden-trained bay colt nicely finished as a runner-up in each of the first three races of his career that began in September 2011. He managed to break his maiden marvellously in his last outing on June 8,
2012.
Let us enjoy the exciting and awe-inspiring action. Good luck to all the contestants.
