Noble Witness expected to strike victory in the Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry Handicap Chase at Leicester on 9th March
Leicester is to host the Class 4 Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry Handicap Chase over two miles, seven furlongs and 110 yards on Friday, 9th March. The five-year and older lineup of nine runners will compete for the £3, 249 purse.
Noble Witness, Witness Box’s nine-year-old bay gelding out of mare Jennas Pride, recently got placed in the fourth start of the new season which was at Leicester and the race prior to that was at Leicester too.
Noble Witness cracked into the new season on 4th January in the Membership Of Southwell Golf Club Novices’ Chase at Southwell over two miles. He finished fourth on the lineup of six while the winner of the race was the 5/4 favourite, Eradicate.
Kudu Country was the runner up of the race while Ski Sunday captured the third slot after the winner.
Noble Witness’s next attempt had him finishing fourth once again as the Connolly’s Red Mills Racehorse Cubes Novices’ Chase were won by Clash Duff, the 5/4 favourite, on 27th January at Huntingdon over three miles.
Court Red Handed was the runner up while Elite Beneficial ended third.
After getting defeated quite miserably in the first two starts, Noble Witness eventually got placed during his fourth race of the new season.
On 28th February, Noble Witness was positioned third in the Squire Osbaldeston Handicap Chase at Leicester over two miles and seven and a half furlong. The race was won by the 11/4 favourite, Tuskar Rock who was soon followed on the other side
of the wire by Arturo Uno.
Today Noble Witness will race a fifth time during the season and would race at Leicester third time in a row. He improvised his rankings from fifth to third position in the course of two starts and how higher would today’s race take him, will surface soon.
Another entry who has raced at Leicester recently is eight-year-old Qualypso D’Allier under training Andy Turnell. The gelding finished sixth on the lineup of twelve in the Wren Handicap Chase on 16th February at Leicester over two miles and four
and a half furlongs.
He is winless through the two starts that he made during the season and a third opportunity is what he needs.
