Nocerino still surprised by Palermo’s decision to get rid of him in the summer transfer window
A.C Milan midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Nocerino-c6332, is still not sure why Palermo sold him during the summer transfer window.
Nocerino signed for Italian Champions, A.C Milan, in the summer for only 500,000 Euros. The Rosanero listed the Italian international on the transfer market and Milan became successful in their cheeky bid for the midfielder.
The 26-year-old has made a huge impact since joining the club this summer and he scored a hat-trick in Milan’s previous game against Parma during the midweek. This was the former Juventus star’s first professional hat-trick.
Nocerino is surprised why he was not offered an extension by the Rosanero and they let him go so cheap. The Italian admitted that he was disappointed to leave the Stadio Renzo Barbera as he had some great friends at the club. He
is disappointed that the Rosanero bosses did not believe in his abilities therefore they wanted to get rid of him.
The former Genoa star rejected talks that he held the club for ransom and insisted that he demanded nothing but only an extension to his contract.
“I’m still not sure why Palermo allowed my contract to run down into its last 12 months. I wasn’t at an age or had significant enough wages which would have forced Palermo to sell me in that way. I don’t know if there was someone
there who didn’t believe in me. I was disappointed at the start as I left behind some good friends.”
“I was expecting to sign an extension to my contract and I was ready to. It looks like it was my fault that I left, that I wanted more money or that I wasn’t happy. All of that is not true.”
The box to box midfielder has insisted that he is happy at Milan now and is hoping to finish his career at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. He insisted that he has settled in really well at his new club and feels like at home at Milan.
The midfielder also thanked the Rossoneri chiefs for the confidence they showed in him and is hoping to repay their faith.
The midfielder has established himself as a first-team regular in Massimiliano Allegri’s setup and has played a handful of matches thus far.
