The criticism seems to have taken its toll on the Italian national outfit and he has given out a sound warning to anyone who tries to undermine the Diavolo outfit.
The San Siro side have come under immense pressure, right from the start of the season; and in particular after they crashed out to Sampdoria on the opening day fixture. The Diavolo lost out to Ciro Ferrara’s men in the first round of the Serie A, by losing
1-0 on the night.
It was not the best of pre seasons for the Milanello as well, as they had lost out to Real Madrid in their pre season friendly during their tour of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390. After losing many players through retirement, aging and selling players; Milan have been featuring
a dwindling team of late and they were booed off in their Champions League fixture against Anderlecht at their home stadium.
The pressure has consistently been building against the Rossoneri side and this has led the players to face heaps of criticism, and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Nocerino-c6332 has finally hit back. He went on to commend the head coach of the team for being able to put up with the
press in the manner that he does, and further remarked that there needs to be patience employed with Milan.
He went on to comment that it would be extremely premature to give out judgements before teams got into their stride and also mentioned their targets for the end of the season. Nocerino dismissed talks of competing for the Scudetto and remarked that the
runners up or the third position in the Serie A would be the objectives of this season. He further went on to remark that Milan needs to be given the due respect it deserves as it just not any other club.
He was quoted to have said:
“We have to wait until the end of the season before making judgements. To do so now would not be very intelligent. We’ll work hard to get the maximum out of the season. I’m not saying the Scudetto, but I am talking about second or third. Seventh or eighth
place is not the best we can do. We are not just any team, Milan are Milan. You have to respect us, to criticise us would be madness.”
The Rossoneri are currently in the 11th position of the Serie A with seven points from a possible 21.
