  1. NOD32 - no question. It's the best anti-virus and what I use.

Recent tests prove Kaspersky and NOD32 are better than the best sellers Norton and McAfee (av-comparatives.org). Norton is notoriously bloated and takes forever to perform full systems scans.

Trend Micro Antivirus is a viable alternative if you're having a lot of trouble with software conflicts. Trend Micro rounds out the top three. BitDefender is very good as well, but gives a high number of false alarms.

The most popular free anti-virus programs (AVG and Avast) have poor detection rates (82.82%, 87.46% respectively). If you want a free anti-virus Avira has higher detection rates than AVG or Avast! (94.26%).

  2. nod32 still best in terms of system performance

  3. nod 32 is an old fashiond system with no major advances since it first came out . quite useless...

norton 360 has a limited data base so is not very good either it misses most of the new virus strains alltogether...

the best one to go for at the moment is

    Zone alarm internet security suite...

  4. I would say Norton 360, but if you want the best security on the market with pentagon level security try the Yoggie Pico or the Pico pro, the Yoggie is a small Linux computer concealed in a usb stick, this will run all your anti virus, spy ware, firewall and more. Designed to off-load from your PC any installed security software this dedicated mini-server provides PC users with the following benefits:Block all Internet threats outside, before they reach your PC

Hide your PC from Internet Hackers

    Boost your PC’s performance

Dual Flash memory mechanism constitutes an “Untouchable Operating System” barrier for complete physical isolation of your PC from threats

Protection from known as well as unknown attacks

Plug and Forget easy installation and operation with no special technical knowledge required

Security software updates accumulate on the Yoggie’s external mini-server, instead of draining your PC’s resources

  5. You are trying to compare an apple to an orange.

Eset NOD32 is a simple anti-virus. Period. But an extremely good one.

Norton 360 is a complete internet security suite which includes anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall, anti-spam, a back-up utility and a firewall.

If you are looking for a complete security suite, you might want to consider, Esst Smart Security...it's made by the same dudes that make NOD32.

  6. Definitely Norton 360 as it says on the tin it's all round protection.

  7. Nod32, norton is tbh rubbish.

  8. Eset Nod32 is an anti-virus program. Has excellent reviews but if you are looking for total protection it is no good on its own. Eset smart security has everything and is just like Norton 360 only a lot better.

Norton 360 is rubbish so I would not recommend it at all.

I had a trial of Eset but I decided to go back to Kaspersky which was on my last laptop because I felt it offered more protection. It does a lot more than any other security program out there. It even scans your programs and tells you if they are up to date with the latest security patches or not.

Have a read on both of these websites and decide for yourself. But don't choose Norton. Not very good value for money compared to Kaspersky internet security 2009 or Eset smart security.
