Question:

Noise cancelling headphones for use on plane?

I am going on a 14 hour flight to Japan this summer. Last year, I remember having to crank up my stereo headphones just to hear music. The jet engine is so loud, ya know? Obvious, right. Anyways, I'd like to know if anyone would recommend noise cancelling headphones that work great on airplanes. I have 400 dollars but if you could give me several good reviews on headphones, that would be great. Thank you!

  1. I totally agree with the above answer, I've owned the Bose Quiet Comfort 2 for about five years now, and the difference when flying is amazing. The reduction in noise from the engines is greatly reduced and allows you to listen to music and the movies on the plane at comfortable levels and with much better quality sound than the cheap headphones the airlines provide. They're not cheap as you know, but I think they're worth every penny. I also broke my Bose headphones, Bose sent a new set with no questions asked and also gave me a new warranty as well. Just make sure you bring  banana plug and two prong adapters with you, the plugs can be different on just about every plane, and always bring a spare battery or two with you as they don't work if the battery goes dead. The Bose headphones are top rated, and I'm sure there are other good brands out there, but stay away from the cheap ones (I've tried a couple of other cheaper brands), you get what you pay for in most cases.

  2. There really is only ONE answer -- Boze Q2.  $300 US, go online and check them out.  AND they fold up!
