  1. first if your neighbour isn't a phsyco then pop next door and ask her to turn it down, she might not realise how much it sounds in your house. if she's a nutter then your council should have a noise abatement section that should be manned at night and they will come out and knock the door for you. failing that call the police and tell them you think it's a rowdy party.

if you know her name then call 0800 100 100 get her phone number and let it ring until she answers the phone.

  2. play some loud classical during the day when they are sleeping

  3. yes i do you ring the police and explain you have knocked on the door of your neighbour ho has her music turned up and she will not answer the door tell then you have a baby and it going to wake her up they will send some one out strait away or if you know you aren't frightened of her try her door and if it opens walk in and turn it of then tell her if it carries on you will ring the police she should not have her music on that loud after 9 o'clock from what the police have told me and report her to the local housing authority or the council if she private

  4. First of all, you have my sympathy. I've been through this and it can be horrible.

Making two assumptions that (1) it's an ongoing problem and not just a one-off and (2) your neighbour is a full-time cretin who won't listen to reason then I have some good news and some bad news for you.

The good news is that stuff like this CAN be sorted out. The bad news is that it may take a while.

You can call the police, and depending on how busy/cooperative they are, they may turn up and have a word with her. But in my experience the police do not see noisy neighbours as a police matter.

If you have an ongoing problem, you need to contact your local council, and get in touch with the environmental health officer, who deals with this stuff. What happened with us is that we were told to keep a diary of events, with the date, the time, a description of the noise or disturbance, how loud it is etc, whether it can be heard over your own TV, that sort of thing, and importantly, the EFFECT that the noise has on YOU - perhaps your baby wakes up, etc. EVERY time the noise happens, make an honest diary entry.

Then, typically, they will have an on-call person whose job it is to come out to you if you have a particularly bad episode like tonight. They come out and witness how the noise sounds from inside your place. Once they have witnessed it, and have seen your diary, they will typically write to your neighbour. If your neighbour continually ignores the letters, they will take her to court. The court has the power to impose fines, confiscate stereos etc. Also, if your neighbour is a council tennant they may be breaching their tennancy agreement and in very extreme cases the council may evict them.

Anyway, keep calm, start your diary now, phone your environmental health officer in the morning and good luck.

  5. I think you can go to the police and file a report for disturbing the peace.  Then your neighbor will HAVE to turn down her music.

  6. do the same back when they are sleeping, they will soon get the message and be banging on your door.

  7. if she wont open the front door

    you have two chioces

    1. either pop a note in her door explaining you had knocked to ask her to turn her music down a little because of your baby being a sleep

    2. report her to the council and right a log of the times she plays the music

oh it's not a police matter i'm sorry to say

i found this out when i was going through the same problems with my neighbour

keep a log if they play ignorent (as most do)

  8. yes bang on the door louder, If they refusie to answer then call the poilce. Report is as noise polouion or violation of peace.

Maby move your baby into another room where its quiter if you can.

  9. Write a letter to her asking her to be quieter and why.

If this does not help, then call the police and they will give you all the advice you need.

  10. beat them up

  11. well i really feel sorry for your 15 month old daughter. Call the police or take a trumpet or any instrument and play it right in front of there door so then when they answer compromise with them. Or before they start playing the music go there and tell them they can but not that loud because of your daughter. I hope they stop!

  12. I feel your pain, i have a neighbour who plays the drums in her garage every evening for about three hours, if the worst comes to the worst and you can't get in touch with her call your council and make a complaint, they will receive a letter and should take the hint, if not have a firm word with them but try not to cause bad feelings as they will still have to be your neighbour

  13. CALL  DA  POPO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. If it is that loud and she won't answer the door then the only other thing is to call police to get it turned down.

  15. i agreewith mike & bex that s wot I would do
