Lille players are delighted with the victory against FC Copenhagen, and are looking forward to make their mark in the Champions League this season
The 2010/2011 champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 sealed their place in the group stages of the European club competition, after defeating the Danish side on Wednesday at Grand Stade Lille Metropole.
And Lille players have expressed their delight after qualifying for the Champions League.
Lille striker, Nolan Roux, has praised his team-mates and has set his sights on helping Les Dogues win their up-coming games.
The 24-year-old added that the visitors gave them a tough time and it was a very stressful match for the players.
After qualifying for the group stages of the Champions League, the Frenchman now wants to progress as further as possible in the competition, and has urged his team-mates to play with the same determination and confidence in Europe this season.
“It is better still to win it at the end. The match was stressful, now the ambition is to win all our games.
Roux added that if they play with same confidence in their up-coming matches, they can beat anybody in the world.
“We need to do what we did tonight. The first leg was hard but we did well during the week and showed our determination."
Lille goalkeeper, Mickael Landreau, who has been recalled to the French national team for the world cup qualifiers, has expressed his delight at the way things are going for him at the moment.
The shot-stopper stated that to play in the Champions League is a great joy for him and he is looking forward to helping Les Dogues achieve more success in the future.
"It's a great day. I am really happy and to have also been rewarded with a call-up to the French team is super. For me this represents a huge amount of things. I played in all the teams from juniors up and I also experienced some tough times so it is a fantastic
day".
A call-up to the national side is a moment of pride for the 33-year-old, and the player has vowed to repay the faith shown in him by the Les Bleus coach.
