Nolan Roux’s actions might put move to Schalke 04 in jeopardy – Ligue 1 news
Reports in French and German media suggest that young Stade Brestois striker, Nolan Roux might have put his move to Bundesliga side Schalke 04 in jeopardy after the Frenchman refused to participate in training with the Ligue 1 side.
The youngster is eager to join the Gelsenkirchen outfit this summer and after the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues’ 6.5 million Euros bid was rejected by Stade Brestois, the youngster refused to participate in the club’s preseason practise.
Stade Brestois are holding out for 8 million Euros for the talented striker but it has been reported that the two parties (Schalke and Brest) would reach a compromise well before the closure of this summer’s transfer window.
However, instead of waiting patiently for matters to resolve, Roux opted for a more rebellious attitude towards his current club – an act that the Schalke direction does not seem to be impressed with.
While talking to the media, Sporting Director of Schalke Horst Heldt said, “Every player must of course respect the contract he has with his club. We cannot accept such an attitude, even if it did not happen to us.”
Heldt’s comments purely show the German club’s annoyance at Roux’s un-sportsman-like conduct that might even affect his departure to the Bundesliga side.
Meanwhile, Stade Brestois have already embarked on a mission to find a replacement for Nolan Roux. Reports suggest that the Brittany club is keeping tabs on Lorient striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Djamel-Bakar-c11362 and Toulouse striker Xavier
Pentecôte .
Suffice to say that negotiations have not been finalised between Brest and Schalke, a favourable outcome for Roux is still a distinct possibility.
Though it’s not the first time a player has done the kind of act that has infuriated management, Roux might learn a lesson of respecting his current club the hard way. If a deal between Brest and Schalke is not finalised this summer, it could also prove
to be a lesson for all other players in the future.
A move to Schalke is still on the cards for Roux, but the 23-year-old striker will have to work hard in order to redeem himself in front of the Schalke directors.
