Non Christians: Am I wrong for saying that if someone dislikes all Bible-believers, he/she is stereotyping?

Ok. Honestly, It seems to me that if a person thinks that there are no respectable Bible-believers, that that person either has little real world experience or is engaging in extreme stereotyping? Am I wrong?

  1. You are only wrong if that someone is an all-knowing God. Otherwise that someone is stereotyping.

  2. I don't dislike all "Bible-believers", I am just disappointed that they lack a sense of intellectual curiosity and accept what they are told at face value.  It does say a lot about a person's mentality.  There are people in this world who like to be told what to do and respond to authority and authoritarian figures, I have just never been one of those people.  I value rational thought and open debate on any subject.  "Bible-believers" refuse to see reality and painfully twist logic to fit a narrow-minded world view, plain and simple.  I have plenty of "real world experience" and although our weak and soft society doesn't like to admit this, most stereotypes are based in some truths.

  3. NOPE IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT AT ALL.

IT'S YOUR OPINION ( THAT YOU CONCLUDED FROM FACTS OR ELSE....)

BUT IF YOU HAVE NO REASON FOR THAT, IT WILL MAKE NO SENCE AT ALL, BUT STILL DOESN'T MAKE YOU STEREOTYPING.

JUST PRAY FOR THEM , AND THAT GOD WILL SHOW THEM THE "REAL BIBLE" WITH THE Q'URAN SOON ENOUGH.   :)

  4. The Bible was written for people who needed to be told "Don't s***w your sister or your goat."

The rest of us get along fine, thank you very much.

  5. Yes it is stereotyping, but then again, Christians seem to believe that anyone who does not accept Jesus as their savior is going to h**l, so I think it's all fair.

When Christians stop calling me damned just for not believing as they do I'll stop calling them irrational.

  6. I think people love it when the stereotypes make them look good but then scream and protest when its negative twds them.

    ex.

    atheists are really openminded

    response by many atheists

yes that true because we arent bound by religious dogma

    ex.

atheists really are anti God and just hate religion

    response

you cant judge all atheists the same, we are all different so dont stereotype

    ex.

christians are so much more moral than atheists

    response by many christians

thats because we have God in our hearts

    ex.

    christians arent very educated

    response

you cant judge all christians like that, I have a degree in.......

People love the positive stereotypes and couldnt agree with them more but then hate it when the negative ones are applied and get all defensive

Its a ridiculous double standard that I dont understand more people cant see.

    lol

many people are doing it right now in this question

  7. You aren't wrong.

  8. I do not care what you believe in. If it works for you great. There are some people that do not believe in the Bible and that works for them.

What I would like to know is what difference doe it make if you believe in it or not??

  9. it really depends what their religion is.

i'm muslim. and in islam, you need to repect the bible and the torrah. their god's books. i know some other muslims are crazy. but, really, some of those who grew up here, they understand.

your not wrong. some people are extreme stereotypes. i read the bible. it's a good book. i respect it. i understand it. but, there are alot of crazy people in this world.

  10. No, you're not wrong. I know one true Christian. So if there's at least one, there have to be others. Right?

  11. is someone stereotyping who dislikes n***s, or kkk members?

I dislike anyone who joins a hate mongering, misogynistic, homophobic cult that promotes slavery and violence.

  12. no!!!!!!!!!

  13. I think that IS extreme sterotyping.

I have many friends who are Jewish or Christian and they are respetable, nice people who I have trusted with my life.  I myself am a Panentheistic Hellenic Pagan, but I know and respect people of many other faiths and practices.

I know that every group - including religions - will have good and bad individuals in them; that is just the way it goes.  If someone can't understand that, it isn't your problem to "fix" or figure out - I mean there are just some things you can't teach people, and tolerance is one of them.

    Peace!

  14. I guess I was raised in the tough neighborhood. There when you called one group of people a name are voiced dislike they we a bigot.Am I wrong?

  15. No, simply the fact that they believe in the Bible makes them an unpleasant person.

I also dislike all n***s. I'm NOT comparing theists to n***s - however, the same /basic/ logic applies.

  16. Some stereotypes are more accurate than others.
