Non EU national with Indefinite leave to remain in UK but has stayed in Ireland >2yrs-what happens to the ILR

Went to Ireland(common travel area) for postgraduate med training but plan to return to UK when offered a job. frequent uk visits within the 2years. What happens if there is need to go to uk after these 2 years.

  1. You did not take up your ILR for 2 Years . They would need an explanation together with a new application to be considered .( That would be how it will be viewed) I don't think anything worse than being asked to go back home and reapply could happen.. It is possible with a lot of luck you may be able to charm your way back  and stick to the plans.
