Basically it's fasting: no eat, drink, s*x, get mad, cry from sunrise to sunset. It is also believed by muslim that it is at Ramadan the Koran was revelated to the Prophet. One night within the Ramadan, which  is being secretized by God, at which ones (normal) wishes may come true, and all of his/her sin is forgiven, but only certain muslim will experience it with his/her soul. God's prerogative. That night is called 'Laylatul Qadr'
