Question:

Non carry-on luggage question. (US Airways)?

As I am to be flying US Airways and having luggage that contains bottled liquids and not-so-friendly carry on items (i.e. ProActiv, Hairspray, Straightener, etc) how much is the going rate to toss a few bags into the cargo bay?

I assume it's based upon weight, so, let's assume 2 10-15 lb luggage bags. Also, what if I were to bring a guitar? Is that acceptable as carry on? What about an Xbox 360? Is their any form of insurance incase they become damaged preflight and/or during?

What items are accepted?

Is hairspary a total no-go since it's contents are under pressure?

  1. cost of baggage:

restrictions on what you can and can't bring (carry ons and checked luggage)

  2. It's $15 for the first piece of checked baggage, $25 for the second and $100 for the third.

If you're checking two pieces of luggage you're looking at $40 EACH WAY.  If you can see if you can fit everything into one bag weighing less than 50 pounds.

Yes, you can bring your guitar as a carry on as well as your XBox.

Really there isn't any insurance for things that are lost or damaged.  If you want to make sure your things arrive at your destination safely I suggest you ship them via UPS, FedEx or USPS as they can insure items against loss or damage.

  3. You're gonna end up paying....45 dollars on bringing an extra luggage. 15 for the first and like 25 for the second. That's like...40 or 45. They'll most likely not throw away that stuff in your luggage. Not sure about the guitar. No you'll have to check in your Xbox 360 or leave it at home.
