  1. Please visit the following website. It will give you all the info you need. http://www.dfwgun.com/training/security It covers commisioned, non commisioned, as well as level IV personal protection. Hope that helps. As for the guest598, he is an idiot. I could not help but laugh as I read what he had to say. I find it funny when somebody rambles on without the slightest clue what they are talking about. Shows how dtupid some people really are these days. LOL

  2. Guest598 is so completely wrong. There is such a thing as a commisioned security officer. Non-commissioned hasn't had the training to carry lethal weapons while COMMISSIONED do, look it up anywhere... even the DPS website calls them COMMISSIONED security.

Secondly, Texas is NOT an open carry state. It's a concealed carry and you have to have your Concealed Handgun License to do so, which is a 10-hour class.

  3. The answer above is correct on almost all accounts except that The Texas department of public safety on-line test is for Level I and Level II tests, you must register with your name and a email address and a password of your choice...It is a 40 question test for each level and you are graded right after each test on-line. You still need a security job before they will send you your work card but its pretty fast.
It is very easy to pass these tests I did both in about 15 minutes with no study at all and passed them..its not rocket science just think about and us common sense. The Level III test requires a 30 Hour class and gun qualifying also about $200.00 for it and the Level IV is a 2 day class and another $200.
Good luck to you and welcome to Dallas if you are a new guy here!
