Non-connceting router?

i have a netgear router, and when i connect it at home, it doesnt connect to the internet. but when it was connected at my friend's workplace, it worked fine. can someone please help me with this?

  1. you need to change the logon details stored on the router


  2. reset the router to factory defaults

    with the router plugged in use a pin in the back to hold down the reset switch

    set up the router from scratch

    change the wireless channel from default channel 6 to 1 or 11

To get into the router connect it to your computer, open your internet browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the address window, this will take you to the location to change settings in most routers, unless it hass been changed from the factory, if you got the router from your friend they should have the access information, otherwise just use the factory logon info to get into it.
