  1. You should ask that question in the Business section. If I were to be the sole worker (or my family) and what ever I produced was sold to run this farm and pay my bills, here I might apply for a tax exempt status because I am not making a profit. I am not a company or a corporation and money I earn is mine in wages. It is different if I hire people to work and I pay myself a wage, the rest going back into the company or corp. Laws are different for each state as to what is non-profit. You can find that out on line if you look at your state government web sites regarding small business owners and associations. Size is always a general determining factor for earnings, but not the only one.

  2. To answer your questions in order:

Any organization that is classified as non-profit is supposed to break even, e.g., expenses equal income.

A regular farm, is normally a for profit operation, however, it can also lose money if conditions get bad.

That would depend on your definition of better.  If you were truly non-profit, that would be better than operating at a lose, however, making great piles of money might not be a bad thing either.

Again it would depend on your definition of what is more money.  A very large operation might generate millions of dollars in income and have millions of dollars in expenses with a net profit of zero. A small specialty operation might produce only a few hundred dollars in excess cash, but that would be more than a non-profit which produced zero excess cash.

  3. I'll answer your questions in order. BROKE,ONE MAKES MONEY, THE 1 THAT MAKES MONEY,& THE 1 THAT MAKES MONEY

  4. Farms can also be educational centers, where children, families, and teachers can come to learn. Some farms have become nonprofit organizations whose main mission is to educate others about sustainable issues.

The main difference is a regular farm is the way the farmer and family make their living. The non-profit farms are mainly for educational purposes. Which is better, you really couldn't say one was better than the other, each has it's own place. Which makes the most money, I think that would be obvious by definition.
