  1. Book is the number one best curriculum available today. Trust me; I used it for 12 years and I wouldn't recommend anything else.

  2. I have been in the same boat homeschooling my son.  Everyone wants to "push" the religious books on you, but I have found that Saxon is way better.  It explains the lessons better and is more thorough.  I also like Scott Foresman for Reading, Spelling, and those types of courses.  I hope this helps...  and good luck!

  3. I think Saxon material is pretty non-religious, but if you're looking for the best home school education, and you can deal with or even appreciate "religious" material, ABeka Book is the number one best curriculum available today. Trust me; I used it for 12 years and I wouldn't recommend anything else.

  4. we use MARDEL they have both.  Not sure where you are located but do a search.  Also look for local education stores.  Then there is the big book,  www.rainbowresource.com

  5. Homeschool Curriculum Shop, Core-Curriculum, Amazon, and Ebay have secular homeschool materials. Good luck I hope you find what you need.

  6. I agree with the other answer, Saxon is a great source... There are several other great ones, try searching around on Amazon or the other book stores...

  7. Do you want prepackage/complete curriculum or by subject.

    We are secular non-christian homeschoolers.

Right now DDs needs are better met by not using a complete "school in a box" curriculum.

The following are what we are using this year. Most subjects we have used the same source for 2-3 years.

    Singapore math www.singaporemmath.com

Easy Grammar & Easy Writing http://www.easygrammar.com/

    Mega Words (spelling)

    History Odyssey http://www.pandiapress.com/history_odyss...

    Writing Strands

    Great Science Adventures http://www.commonsensepress.com/greatsci...

Most of the above, including anything without a link is available at

    http://www.rainbowresource.com/index.php

    Complete curricula:

    Oak Meadow http://www.oakmeadow.com/

    Calvert http://www.calvertschool.org/calvert-sch...

We will likely switch to Oak Meadow for 7+

  8. Sonlight- http://www.purehomeschooling.com/2008/01... -has great programs. You can order the programs without the bible portion. They are high quality, and they have an awesome return policy if it's not a good fit for you.

    Best of Luck!
