I'm going to be in Italy/Sicily from March 30th and coming home on Easter Sunday.

I'll be visiting Rome, Sorrento, Capri, Taormina, Palermo, etc. and I'd love to find out the good, non-touristy shopping, eating, and other off the beaten track things to do! Thanks!

  1. Hi! I would suggest going to Paestum in Southern Italy.  It's a great place to see ancient ruins.  In Sicily Cefalu is a great small town right on the sea that not too many tour companies go to.  Of course you have Agrigento, Palermo and such which have great places to see as well.  Don't be afraid to ask the locals while your there.  It all depends what areas your going to be in.  If your going through a tour company they are going to keep ya on the path where most tourists go, but don't be afraid to go off on your own after the tour is over and explore!

  2. Their is many things to do in Sicily and here is the city of Agragento  has rhe Spanish steps of all ceramic and you can go into many shops and watch them make it and or buy also all different kinds stuff but what they are known for is their dinner ware plates, cups and so on  in complete sets in either whatever you want to design or what they make which for the quality of it is really cheap. Which a non tourist sight not alot of people know about.

Thier are flea markets in every city some have them daily others have them once to 3 times aweek.
