  1. as a resident, I'm sure the insurance and MOT laws apply.

They should be warned, as the penalties include seizing  and crushing the car. But under the EU laws if the car is insured in Poland,  They are likely to be covered,   But will still have to meet MOT standards.  Citizens Advise Bureau should beable to tell them the Legal

  2. I believe it is 6 months. After that you have to tax in the UK

Of course there is nothing to stop someone staying here for 5 months returning abroad for a day and coming back here. In which case their 6 month period starts all over again.

  3. its a maximum of 6 months! after that you should repoort it to the council and police as they are then essentially uninsured untaxed and illegal to stay on the road.

also non Uk vehicles overstaying tend to statistically break more  traffic and parking laws as they believe they are untraceable.

    IT IS ILLEGAL!

  4. DVLA Freephone Hot Line 0800 03 25 202

let them know about the tax etc

  5. It used to be 6mths then you had to reregester it to a uk plate

that what my mate had to do when he laft the army from germany

  6. has to be registered ... and insurance
