Question:

Non-vegetarian restaurants that are vegetarian friendly?

I will be in town next week, part of a group of people that includes two vegetarians ( we don't eat fish) and someone who hates any food he considers unusual (Indian, Middle Eastern, Thai, Japanese, actual vegetarian restaurants, etc).

Any restaurant recommendations that will make everyone happy? They can be off-Strip, and we would like to avoid national chain places if possible.

ANY help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  1. Check out the list of vegetarian-friendly restaurants on VegDining.com.  Here's the link for Las Vegas and the rest of Nevada:

I hope this helps.  Good luck!

  2. The Mirage buffet is awesome.  The vegetarians can just avoid the meat.  Very nice salad bar.  Good veggie dishes. Awesome, and I mean AWESOME desserts.

  3. U forgot to mention which town u talking about. Sweet Tomatoes has a good salad buffet (has soups and hot meals eg pasta also) but like I said don't know where u talking about so don't know if they have one there.

Edit; ok igot it u posted this under Las Vegas, sorry, never been there.

  4. I don't remember what the place is called put its in the shopping area right on the corner of Eastern and Windmill (cross street) It's a vegan veggie place and they have smoothies too. I have never been there, as I'm not a Vegan, but I have passed by and it looks nice. You might want to check it out, it's not too far from the strip (15min) on freeway.

  5. Souplantation is great for everyone and is definitely vegetarian friendly!! enjoy!!

    address: 2080 N. Rainbow Blvd.

    Phone number: 702-648-1957

  6. I have a co-worker who is vegan, and he ocassionally eats at "regular" restaurants. He will usually order sides or salads that don't contain ingredients he doesn't want. So instead of ordering an entree, order a salad with your preferred dressing, if any, and then a side dish (veggies, appetizers, or any other side).

If there is an item that is basically vegetarian or vegan, then order it without the cheese or meat or whatever. Most restaurants will comply where practical. The trick he uses is if the waiter asks, just mention that you are allergic to the ingredient instead of vegetarian - they are much more likely to comply if they have to worry about a possibly sick customer than a customer that is just choosing an alternative preparation.

Probably the best choice for a group meal in this type of setting would be Italian - there are many choices on the menu that don't contain meats, and you can get them without cheese or other items you don't want.

Your best choices for this would be places like Maggiano's Little Italy, Macaroni Grill or Olive Garden (I know - national chains). There are also many other excellent Italian restaurants in town. I would also possibly recommend Sammy's Woodfire Pizza. There are a couple locations in town and they serve pizza, pasta and other dishes, and I am sure you can get them the way you want them.
