  1. 99 after fasting seems a little high.  Blood glucose test kits are widely available in drug and department stores like Walmart...  If you're concerned, you could take your blood sugar levels several times a day to be sure.

Either way, unless your sugar levels are outrageous, you'll probably not take any serious damage, even if you are slightly diabetic.  Many people are diabetic for years before being diagnosed.

  2. machelle   !

A normal fasting blood sugar result is lower than 100 milligrams of glucose per deciliter of blood (mg/dL).

    So yours is normal

The normal range of A1C for people without diabetes is 4 percent to 6 percent.

So your this reading is also normal

Yes you can wait for another 6 months to get tested again

  3. 99 is fine for fasting, when you dont eat your cells still tell your brain they need glucose for energy so your liver will release glucose that it stores for energy so i wouldnt expect you fasting sugars to be ne lower, also a normal persons A1c should be between 4.7 and 6.0 so your fine for now and unless you feel symptomatic, excessive thirst, and bathroom trips you should be fine for the next 6 months

  4. Visit my blog site and print off the Blood Glucose Level Chart. The chart relates the HbA1C and daily finger prick test. The chart cover the range of results. Study the chart and you find things are good.
