99 (8 months apart).

Both A1C's were 5.4

Ok, so I got some responses on here that were saying they were perfect and I got some emails on my email that were real negative and I am scared now...Also my dr. said it's good.

I know it sounds silly but I am that kind of person.

  1. Here are the numbers for both major organizations on Diabetes:

    Normal Blood Glucose fasting test

       American Diabetes Association (ADA)                                 70-100

American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE)    60-100

    Pre-Diabetes or Borderline

       Both ADA and AACE                                                         100-126

Diabetes (two separate blood tests required)

Both ADA and AACE                                                       Over 126

    A1C Scores

Both ADA and AACE     Anything under 6.0 is normal

ADA                             Anything under 7.0 is an in-control Diabetic

AACE                           Anything under 6.5 is an in-control Diabetic

A 99 is a normal BG level and an A1C of 5.4 is a very normal level. Your doctor is right, you are not at risk based on these two tests. Relax.

  2. Perfectly NORMAL.

  3. it's fine

  4. You might get varying answers because the blood sugar level is measured in different units in different countries - sometimes by differnt labs in the same country.

Blood sugar level should be between 4 & 7, so you're good!!
