I have nonverbal learning disorder and have a hard time understanding it. What are the strengths vs. the weaknesses?

  1. I am surprised that the person who diagnosed you, didn't explain it to you.  If you are school age, go to your school's School Psychologist for more information.  If you are an adult, simply do a website search.  There are a few good websites I'm sure that will explain it very well.

  2. The strengths of having nonverbal learning disorder

    excellent vocabulary, reading, spelling, speech and memory.

    In my opinion,from those I have met, people with NVLD are very smart

    Challenging areas are:

    dyspraxia (lack coordination), math, difficulty generalizing info, lacking social skills like getting puns and jokes, sarcasm, have difficulty reading nonverbal cues
