[Noob] First time going to a pub/club/bar?

Question

I'm 22 and even though I have drank alcohol before (those purchased from 7-11 and you go drink at someone's HDB void deck/chalet gathering etc, I have never exactly know what are the so-called "standard drinks" names one can order over a bar at a pub/club.

So my first time going to a bar/pub/club this coming weekends, therefore what should I order? Most importantly, HOW should I order them?

"Can I get a beer?"

Is that how you would order?

If you have a favorite beer then go ahead and ask for it specifically. If you want to drink hard alcohol - look up a list of basic drinks before you go and read about what is in then. Remember a few that sound good and give them a try - you'll soon find something you love! A few good ones to start with (in my opinion) are...

- Coke and Rum

- Cranberry, Pineapple, Vodka

- s*x on the Beach

- Jaeger Bomb

If you are at a fancy bar - when you order a drink they'll ususally ask you what type of vokda/rum you want. Being a poor college student, I usually ask for something cheap but you can always ask for their suggestion too!

Know what you want to drink first, and then ask for it by name.  If you want beer, then say "I'll have a PBR, Guinness, Rolling Rock, Bud Light, etc..."

If you want to try liquor you can always tell the bartender you've never really been out before and see what they would suggest...  If you like sweet drinks go for s*x on the Beach or something, if not, get something like a Gin and Tonic.  

If it's not a busy bar the bartender will totally help you out and answer your questions.

Otherwise just play it safe and order a Bud Light.  And always tip a dollar per drink order.

For beer normally we order by jugs ranging from $18 to $24 per jug for pub/ $22 to $ 40 for club or single bottle or a bucket with 5 or 6 bottles of beers ( depend on the pub or club for the no. of bottle per bucket)

or you can order a bottle of martell or chivas with green tea or coke as mixer around 120 for chivas & 170 for martell for pub/ 180 for chivas & 200 ++ for martell at club
