  1. I don't know, but she sure got ripped off.

  2. $3.86.

  3. $3.86 for one pound of meat.

  4. $10.00 - $3.25 (ice cream) = $6.75 - $0.96 (change) = $5.79

    If 1 1/2 lb meat cost $5.79 then 1/2 lb costs 1/3 of that which is $1.93. So one pound of meat is 2 x $1.93 which is $3.86

  5. 3.25 + (1½ × price) + .96 = 10.00

  6. 10.00-(3.25+.96)=x   then

    x /1.5= your answer

    10.00-4.21=5.79/1.5

    =3.86 per pound

  7. her change was $5.21

  8. $10.00 - $0.96 = $9.04 spent

    $9.04 - $3.25 = $5.79 meat cost

    $5.79/(3/2) = $5.79*2/3 = $3.86/lb

  9. Let the total cost of the meat be M.

    10 = 3.25 + M + 0.96

    5.79 = M

    5.79/1.50 = 3.86 per pound
