I sent my application in online about two weeks ago for a conductor job in Knoxville, Tennesse and I have had no responce back. How long does it take for them to get back to you. Is there a number I can call to talk to someone about the job?

Please help!

  1. It took my son about two months from application to interview, and he works for NS...From what I understand, they process all applicants, and then a number of qualifier's are hired as a class of trainees....

  2. i normally wouldn't answer your question, but seeing as noone else has taken the time.

I do not know about NS' hiring procedures, but i do know that railroads like to take their time hiring you (they don't however take their time in firing you).  it took about 2 months before i even got my interview with bnsf.  After initial interview it took about a month to begin training.

hope that answers your question even though it was with a different company.

Good luck, it is a pretty good job... bad hours, but good job.
