Nori substitutes?

I want to make a fishless sushi with chicken and stuff. I wnat to call it the american sudhi but i need a nori (seaweed) substitute. Do you know where i cna get it and what its called?

Where can i get rice paper in DE? will that tate ok?

  1. Try thinly sliced strips of cucumber, zucchini or even carrots in place of nori:

  2. Desi Chef is right even blanched spinach leaves, and in Delaware I would look for a Vietnamese store or a high end store like Whole Foods or Zabars.

    Check the Yellow Pages for Asian Grocery stores or food outlets, it may mean a trip to Wilmington or an other state if on the border or outskirts, one word, rice paper keeps so you can buy a bit, just keep it in an air tight container or large Ziploc bag.

    The taste will be fine, even experiment with funky western style dipping sauces for a kick.

  3. If you go to Amazon.com, you can find soy papers.  It's a piece of edible paper made from soy to substitute nori.
