Noriko Inada conquers Women’s back-stroke title: Day four – 2011 USA Swimming Sectionals, Gresham
The 2011 USA Swimming Sectionals, Gresham, saw the brilliant performance of Noriko Inada as she secured the Women’s 100m back-stroke title, on day four of the event in Oregon, on Friday, July 22, 2011.
The session of the meet saw other impressive efforts also, as DU Hilltoppers Kyle Milberg won the Men’s 100m back-stroke crown, while Ian Wheeler snared the gold medal in the Men’s 400m freestyle. Mary Olsen captured the gold medal in the Women’s 100m breast-stroke.
Brandon Fischer snagged the Men’s 100m breast-stroke title, whereas, Kelly Naze grabbed the gold medal in the Women’s 100m butterfly. Logan Madson sneaked through the Men’s 100m butterfly meet.
Inada took home the Women’s 100 back-stroke crown after she touched the finishing wall in a winning time of 1 minute and 01.73 seconds. The 32-year-old Inada was prominently ahead of her following swimmers, Kelsey L Conci and Grace Carlson, who pocketed
the silver and bronze medals, with timings of 1:02.86 and 1:03.46 minutes, respectively
On the other hand, the Men’s 100m back-stroke title was taken over by Kyle Milber of Du Hilltoppers with a triumphant time of 57.80 seconds.
Abigail Houck of North Jeffco captured the gold medal in the Women’s 400m freestyle final with a victorious time of 4 minutes and 16.94 seconds. Ian Wheeler of Kamehameha snared the gold medal in the Men’s 400m freestyle with a sterling time of 3 minutes
and 58.00 seconds.
In the Women’s 100m breast-stroke final, Mary Olsen of Sun Devil took home the gold medal with an impressive time of 1 minute and 10.91 seconds, while Brandon Fischer of Wyoming won the Men’s 100m breast-stroke crown with a time of 1 minute and 04.05 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Women’s 100m butterfly crown was taken over by Kelly Naze of Colorado Stars with a sterling time of 59.72 seconds. Kathryn Kinnear of Issaquah wound up second in 1 minute and 00.84 seconds, while Mackenzie Stein of Du Hilltoppers settled third
after she finished her swim in a time of 1 minute and 01.44 seconds.
