Normal Body Temp is 98.6 degree, so why do you feel hot when it 98 Degree out side ?

  1. 98.6 (37.5 C) is the temperature of the inside of your body. Think about it: you don't put a thermometer on your skin to measure your temperature, you have to put it in your mouth or ear. The outer temperature of your body in much less than the one on the inside.


  2. You feel hot because your body is constantly creating heat. You need cool temperatures to counteract this heat generation.

    Like a car engine. It needs to be cooled even though it's internal temperature is about 100C and the outside temp is 20K.

  3. actually being raised at a temp of 98 degree you wouldn't feel hot..

    it's just that wind and sweat etc are constantly colling the outer layers of tissue down.. when it's hot and humid enough that there's no cooling, the outer layer heat up

    these outer layers are where the sensory nerve endings are and you consciously notice the difference
