Normal after c section?

I had my son 3 weeks 4 days ago by emergency c section. This morning I started cramping real bad. Its like bad period cramps except no period yet. I stopped bleeding a little after 2 weeks. Is this normal? Thanks! And would something like midol help at all?

Completely normal. Your body is trying to get back into its normal cycle. Although it takes some women a few months to regulate, some (like me) return to a normal cycle within a few weeks. Given that you have stopped bleeding about 2 weeks ago, it is completely possible that you may be ovulating or preparing to ovulate. The other common possibility is that your uterus is still contracting; which it will do until it is back to its pre-baby size.

As far as the cramping is concerned, try Tylenol & heat compresses. You can also take Ibuprofen but that, like aspirin, thins your blood

& can effect blood clotting.
