  1. That is exactly the reason my male earned the name of S**t Head!  LOL It's normal.  It's like a cat scent marking

  2. Yeah lots of dogs do that, even mine. But once you punish them enough for that bad behavior, they should stop for the most part. and EWW I know the feeling...

  3. My 6-year old Peekapoo Lou Lou loves to roll around on the grass in some sort of dead smelly stuff - other dogs take turns in the same area.

    So yes it's normal.

  4. Unfortunately.  Particularly after a bath.  I guess dogs just like stinkiness.  Be glad he/she's not trying to bring the dead things home.

  5. I'm afraid so, not pleasant, but all too normal.

  6. Ha ha, yeah unfortunately it is pretty normal.

It has to do all with that smell and sensing thing.

You know, how dogs sniff each other - well, they do this to other dogs poo, other animals poo, worms, bugs, and many other things because of the smell. The smell gets on them and they smell different. Although it really stinks to us, its like perfume for them.

  7. Yes,it only starts to become a problem if you start doing it with him.

  8. It's pretty standard dog behaviour....rolling in dead birds, mice etc....

You just have to keep a watchful  eye for the rolling behaviour and break them of the habit!

  9. yes it is, they do that because it has so many smells

  10. Yes it is a dog thing.  Some dogs love to roll in all sorts of smelly things and other dogs don't.  You just happen to have one that loves to do this.  It is perfectly normal behavior.

  11. Perfectly normal.

  12. That's normal.

I had to buy a life-sized mannequin because my dog won't go to sleep at night without humping a seemingly human leg for 15 minutes.

  13. no i guest

  14. yes, they like the smell of dead things.  my chihuahua does it sometimes!!!  little dickens

  15. From what my groomer tells me it is normal. Apparently they dislike the "smell" our shampoo's etc give them.

    Kimmie

  16. yes totally dont worry, just get plenty of shampoo in! lol

  17. YES this is perfectly NORMAL. make sure you have a lot of shampoo on hand. to solve this problem you will need to go roll around in it first. This will show the dog that you have claimed it as yours and if it is submissive, it will not roll in it out of respect for you.

NOTE: Yorkie poos are nice and moist and taste delicious!

  18. yes it's perfectly normal. My dog does this too. It is just getting it's scent over the p**p and dead stuff (terratorial)

  19. i would blame this action particulary on the dogs keen sense of smell. They have a heightened sense of smell and there fore smell everything way different from us. What may seem repulsive for us may smell like a totally different thing for them, example whom of us sniffs dogs butts.

  20. Yes.

  21. This is absolutely normal.

While obviously we, as humans, are very domestic creatures we must realise that certain pets are not as domesticated as us, despite how well they fit into home life.

What I would suggest, because naturally you wouldn't want him in the house after he has been doing that, is that you take him to places that are well maintained and free of such things, like a city run park for instance.

From a canine behavioural point of view there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with your dog doing this.

  22. dogs love to roll in nasty stuff so they can share what they found with you..its gross but they all do it

  23. Dogs usually do that sort of thing when their young. As your dog gets older he might stop.

  24. Oh yes he is trying to cover up his own scent.

Dogs, don't we just love them!!

  25. Yes it's normal but gross. Dogs just like smelly things:)

  26. Well.... I mean she might be angrey and want attention so she might do things like that. She could just be having fun since she is only 2 i would say that is normal. If she keeps doing it then she might need to go to dog training !

  27. Yea dogs love the smell of dead animals I've seen many dogs big and small roll around in them. Pretty sick. I've never seen or heard of them rolling in f***s but since they often times EAT f***s I would imagine it's not that strange either. God, dogs never cease to amaze!

  28. ughh, yah and why did you name your dog Poo? lol!
