Normal gerbil?

is it normal for them to do summersaults and like run around like loonys? is it playful?

  1. Yep.

    Its perfectly normal.

    Gerbils are much more active than hampsters, and so I've found that many hampster owners are surprised by the activeness of gerbils when they purchase one as a pet.

    As the poster above me said, if they don't have a wheel, you may want to consider purchasing one.

    Another neat activity is setting up an escape-proof agility course for your gerbils to play with and explore.

  4. they are just having fun!  Just like how people sometimes run around or laugh and act crazy!  Do they have a wheel?  They may just need some more excercise material, or some more toys and stimulation.  Buy them a wheel and some chewy treats and toys to play with and they might calm down.
