Question:

Normal period ended but pink discharge is continuing...?

I stopped birth control a month and a half ago after experiencing quite a few complications. I had a normal period when I stopped it and then my next period came just a few days earlier than it would have on my normal (w/o bc) cycle. My typical period with and without bc is about 5 days, and this is about how long this past af lasted. However, ever since it ended I have been having pink discharge. My husband and I had unprotected s*x Monday evening and I noticed I had extra bleeding that night. I have been experiencing a pink discharge ever since. Has anyone experienced this or does anyone have advice? If this is still my period, it has been going for 9 days which is incredibly abnormal for me.

  1. I have experienced something like this before.  This bleeding that you are describing could be withdrawal bleeding because of coming off the pill.

Withdrawal bleeding when coming off the pill can take a month or longer (up to 3 months) before it stops.  The reason is because the body is trying to adjust to being off the medication.

I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
