I got a shot yesterday & today, out of no where, the place where i got the shot decided to swell up and it was hot and itchy. Is this a normal reaction to this vaccine?

  1. I wouldn't say it's a normal reaction, but sounds like a moderate one.  Put ice on it for a while to help with the swelling and pain, it will also help it feel cooler.  I'd call the doctor and mention that you're having a reaction as well, since it's not how it should be.

  2. That generally means the live virus in the vaccine has taken hold and started an infection.  You're contagious now and should start breaking out in pocks in about two weeks.
