Hello i was wondering what the "heim" means? such as Jotunheim, Alfheim, Jordheim, Niflheim, and Muspelheim.

Also is there any way a person can learn the norse language such as Tolkien had done before? I'm wanting to further my studies on it and would love to learn about the old language.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  1. I believe "heim" roughly translates to "home" or "world".

Which would infer that Alzheimer is someone that comes from the area of the Alz River. <chuckle>

  2. Wow...its not hard to figure out if you've read any Norse mythology...
