North Carolina Jet-ski/Waverunner laws....?

How old do you have to be to drive a jet-ski in North Carolina? I know you can take a test online before you have your permit, but how old do you have to be to do that?

I believe you have to be 16. You are required to take and pass a Coast Guard Safety class. It's a pretty common sense class that teaches you the basics of boating safety and etiquette. You can probably go online and find locations & times where these classes are being offered, but I don't think you can actually take the class online.

Upon completion of the class, they'll probably issue you a temporary certificate so you can start jet skiing immediately, then you'll get your permanent certificate in the mail. Most states are mandating these safety courses for all boaters.

in NC the age is 16.  used to you could go online and test at 14, but they have even cut that out.
