Question:

North Carolina speeding ticket?

I've gotten about 3 speeding tickets in the past 4 years. A year and a half ago, I got a pretty big one and went to traffic school and used a "prayer for judgement." I just got another (small) one 2 weeks ago. My dad's insurance is going to skyrocket and he will KILL me if he finds out. My question is, do I have any prayer of getting this dropped? and how do I go about doing that? should I go to court? I heard you have a total of 2 prayer for judgements... is that true? HELP!

  1. Any diversionary programs are at the discretion of the judge, you need to speak to the court clerk. Four tickets in three years will not help your chances.

  2. wow...is this all your fault or not ?

    What you must do :

    1. Say "yes Officer, no Officer" to everything. You want this over with - fast!

    2. Act stupid. It helps, even cops don't want to torture the stupid!

    3. Act scared! As if the tickets means the end of your life! Again, cops waver at this point. They may not write it if they feel sorry for you.

    4. Act ignorant about what you did. Even if they give you a ticket at least you didn't admit you were speeding, which they will use in court against you later.

Always plead 'not guilty.' This may be a pre-trial appearance, or you may be able to send in the ticket with 'not guilty' plea. Try to delay a pre-trial appearance if possible. There will be a specified date if you have to mail in the plea.

  3. hey dont feel bad i got worse than you... i got 4 speeding tickets my first year of driving.. yes ur insurence will skyrocket... when i get off my suspention, i will be paying 500$ for insurence... i'd say the only thing you can do is just go to court and try to get the fines reduced...

  4. No - you can only have 1 PFJ in a three year period of time.  If you were granted a PFJ and get another ticket within that 3 year period, you will get hit with all the tickets under the PFJ and the new one.

You should probably talk to a lawyer - but there is no judge in his/her right mind that would drop a ticket for someone that has had as many tickets as you.  You have probably used up all your chances.

Might want to slow it down a little.
